Who Do They Work With?
The current role of psychologists and behavior specialists most often involves assessment, consultation, and development of intervention strategies. Psychologists and behavior specialists are often involved in providing functional analyses of problem behaviors; designing behavioral interventions; providing cognitive, adaptive, and social assessments; guiding the educational curriculum in these areas; and consulting with the rest of the educational team about educational strategies and interventions. Psychologists and behavior specialists are often involved in parent training and support as well.

Who Do They Work With?
Clinical Psychologists provides individual, family, or group psychotherapy and may design and implement behavior modification programs. They collaborate with physicians and other specialists to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs that the family can understand and comply with. They also study the physiological, cognitive, and social development that takes place throughout life with some specializing in behavior during infancy, childhood, and adolescence. Educational Psychologists work with students within the school setting. They collaborate with teachers, Parents/guardian, and school personnel to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students; address student’s learning and behavior problems; improve classroom management strategies or parenting skills; assess students with learning disabilities and gifted and talented students to help determine the best way to educate them; and improve teaching, learning, and socialization strategies. They also may evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs, prevention programs, behavior management procedures, and other services provided in the school setting.
